Uniform Policy

Purpose

At Concordia, the school uniform is a symbol of belonging, equality, and pride in our community. It celebrates our shared identity, encourages students to take pride in their appearance, and creates the best conditions for learning. By wearing the uniform with care, students contribute to a positive school culture built on respect and unity.

Scope

This policy applies to all pupils in Maternelle, Primary, and Collège. We count on all families to act together, as the success of the uniform policy relies on consistency and collective commitment.

Uniform Requirements — Maternelle

• a red smock (un tablier rouge)
• a grey dress (une robe grise)
• a grey skirt (une jupe grise)
• grey trousers (un pantalon gris)
• grey shorts (un bermuda gris)
• a grey sleeveless V-neck pullover (un pull col V sans manches gris)
• a grey V-neck pullover (un pull col V gris)
• a red V-neck cardigan (un cardigan V rouge)
• a white short-sleeved polo (un polo manches courtes blanc)
• a white long-sleeved polo (un polo manches longues blanc)
• a pack of 3 pairs of grey socks (un lot de 3 paires de chaussettes grises)
• a pair of grey tights (une paire de collants gris)

No specific sports uniform is required in Maternelle.

Uniform Requirements — Primary and Collège

School uniform

• a grey pleated skirt (une jupe plissée grise)
• grey trousers (un pantalon gris)
• grey shorts (un bermuda gris)
• a grey sleeveless V-neck pullover
• a grey V-neck pullover
• a red V-neck cardigan
• a white short-sleeved polo
• a white long-sleeved polo
• a pack of pairs of grey socks
• a pair of grey tights

Collège only

• A grey blazer (un blazer gris) — Mandatory
• A red sleeveless down jacket (une doudoune sans manches rouge)
• Grey trousers — If the official trousers are too small, straight-cut trousers (not baggy, not cargo) that fully respect the spirit of the uniform may be accepted.

Sports uniform

• A white T-shirt with the Concordia logo
• A red crew-neck sweatshirt
• White shorts
• Red jogging bottoms
• For Squash, children are asked to wear a white T-shirt and white shorts, with white trainers that do not leave scuff marks on the court.

Shoes

While there is no official school shoe available, please note that trainers are not permitted at school and shoes should be black or dark grey.

There may be some tolerance for discreet black or dark grey trainers without visible branding, logo, or white/light details; however, these must be validated by the Leadership and may be refused if they are not in keeping with the school's uniform philosophy.

In addition, in Maternelle and Primary we ask for shoes without laces, so that children are able to put them on independently.

Coat

There is no official school coat. Families are therefore free to choose their own. We encourage parents to select a smart and simple coat in keeping with the school's smart presentation.

Consequences for Non-Compliance

Maternelle

• Wearing the school uniform is the responsibility of parents.
• Teachers will remind families if a breach occurs.

Primary

• Oral warning for each breach.
• After 3 oral warnings: meeting with the Head.
• After 8 oral warnings: meeting with the parents.

Reward: If a class shows strong commitment to wearing the uniform correctly (fewer than 15 breaches per term), they will receive a Special Award from the school.

Collège

• Oral warning for each breach.
• After 5 oral warnings: Wednesday detention from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
• After 10 oral warnings: Wednesday detention and the missing uniform piece will be provided by the school and billed to the family.

Reward: If a House records fewer than 15 uniform breaches per term, it will be awarded +50 House points in recognition of its collective effort and pride in appearance. In the event of a surprise Uniform Inspection where all children are wearing the appropriate articles, their House will receive one House point per student.
