Lycée Programme

An international, demanding and inspiring Lycée.

Concordia School Paris will open its international Lycée in September 2027. It is the stage where our students will refine their academic pathway, choose their specialisations, and lay the foundations for their university journey, across three years: Seconde (Year 11), Première (Year 12) and Terminale (Year 13).

In Seconde, students will sit the Cambridge IGCSEs, official British examinations that will confirm mastery of core subjects and act as a demanding first milestone. In Première and Terminale, they will follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, recognised as one of the most rigorous pathways to leading French and international universities.

Our ambition is to guide every student to their highest academic potential, within a humane and structured framework, preparing them for the intellectual and personal challenges of the 21st century.

Three pivotal years preparing for higher education.

Seconde (Year 11) structures the transition from Middle School and concludes with the Cambridge IGCSEs: a demanding stepping stone that validates core academic foundations before entering the final two years with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Première and Terminale). Concordia School Paris will shortly become an IB candidate school, the official step before authorisation to deliver the Diploma Programme.

Our ambition

The Lycée years should be the most fulfilling and stimulating of school life.

This is the period when students refine their subject choices and begin to identify the paths they wish to follow in higher education.

Our ambition is for every student to find their path and to be carefully supported through every stage of their academic guidance and university applications.

Thanks to a team of committed, demanding, and deeply invested teachers, we guide every student towards success while cultivating what lies at the heart of our academic project: intellectual curiosity, the taste for personal reflection, and the ability to develop independent thinking.

A modern education designed for today's world.

One of the IB's great strengths lies in its balanced vision of education. Academic excellence goes hand in hand with personal development. Students are encouraged to engage in the arts, sport, collective projects, and service-led initiatives. This approach helps shape young people who combine intellectual ambition, creativity, empathy, and leadership.

The International Baccalaureate (IB), for which we will soon become an official candidate school, is today one of the world's most highly regarded programmes, preparing students for the leading international universities and the challenges of the 21st century.

Admissions conditions

An international, ambitious, and engaged profile.

  • Strong overall academic level (French and English)
  • Fluent command of English (B2 minimum on entry)
  • Motivation for an IB and international pathway
  • Intellectual curiosity and extra-curricular commitment
  • Open to French, expatriate, and international students
Is the IB recognised by French universities?
Yes. The International Baccalaureate is officially recognised in France as equivalent to the baccalauréat for access to universities, Sciences Po, Dauphine, and the grandes écoles through their international admissions procedures. Many IB students also gain places at leading universities abroad (Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, McGill, ESADE, etc.).
Is fluency in English required to start Year 11?
A minimum B2 level is expected on entry. A language test is conducted during the admissions process. For French-speaking students coming from the standard French system, enhanced language support may be offered during the first year.
What are the Lycée tuition fees?
Lycée tuition fees will be communicated to pre-enrolled families during the second half of 2026. Concordia also offers a scholarship scheme on application for eligible families.
Can a student join the Lycée mid-cycle (Year 12 or Year 13)?
For September 2027, the opening concerns Seconde (Year 11) only. The upper classes (Première then Terminale / IB) will open progressively in September 2028 and 2029. Mid-cycle admissions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What is the difference between the IB and the French baccalauréat?
The IB is an international, English-language diploma based on six subjects (three at higher level), three cross-disciplinary components (TOK, Extended Essay, CAS), and a mixed assessment (continuous evaluation + examinations). It is designed to prepare students for international universities and particularly develops critical thinking, independent research, and argumentation.
What happens if a student leaves the school before completing the IB?
Students who sit the Cambridge IGCSEs at the end of Seconde will hold this intermediate qualification. A certificate of completed studies can be issued for those who leave the school during the IB programme .
